11 Different Types Of Journals To Match Your Vibe

Updated: 4 days ago

Maintaining a journal is almost like a hobby amongst most teens and women. I won't get into detail about it because I've already written a separate post on my thoughts about journaling. If you'd like to check it out, here you go:

Journaling Sucks! Here's My Two Cents on That

There are so many kinds of journals out there that are slightly or extremely different from one another. Your preference can vary according to your vibe or the vibe you want to give off. So in this post, I've made a list of 11 different types of journals for you to choose from.

Classic

Classic journals are the diary style books with the black cover and slightly yellowed pages. Like Tom Riddles diary from Harry Potter!

Classic Journal

Size: 5.6 x 8.4 inches

Pages: 416

Blank premium paper with golden rim

Leather Bound

If you're going for a durable journal with a rich look, leather bound journals are a great option.

Leather Journal

Size: 5 x 7 inches

Pages: 288

Handcrafted from genuine leather

Faux Leather

Most journals that claim to be leather are usually just faux (synthetic) leather so be mindful to read the product descriptions carefully.

Faux Leather Journal

Size: 6 x 8.75 inches

Pages: 240

Refill size: 5.63 x 8.27 inches

Cruelty free. 100% Synthetic

Hardcover

I love carrying hardcover journals/books because their weight feels nice for some reason. I'm sure it's not just me who feels that way.

Hardcover Executive Notebook

Size: 5.7 x 8.3 inches

Pages: 200

With pen-holder and magnetic clasp

Embossed

I found some really pretty journals with embossed covers on Amazon. You should check them out as well! This is for those of you who think you are the likes of Princess Jasmine.

3D Embossed Journal

Size: 8.4 x 5 inches

Pages: 200

Handmade and uniquely crafted

Blank Pages

I love journals with blank pages but I can't write straight to save my life! I guess these kind of journals are better suited for drawing and doodling.

4 Blank Notebooks

Size: 5.6 x 8.27 inches

Pages: 240

100gsm acid-free paper

Cream white pages

Ruled Pages

This is what I usually stick to for reasons mentioned above: my journal consists of around 95% of writing and 5% doodling, so yeah.

Classic Ruled Journal

Size: 5.5 x 8.15 inches

Pages: 160

Features a pen holder, elastic closure, back pocket and 2 ribbon marks

Colorful Pages

These journals are so pretty and they kind of remind me of the autograph books we had when we were back in school. I don't even know if kids nowadays use them anymore.

Colorful Blank Notebook

Size: 5.3 x 7.2 inches

Pages: 192

96+ Unique designs

Refillable

Refillable journals are ones to which you can add more pages. These come in different sizes so you need to be mindful when purchasing extra pages.

Refillable Travelers Notebook

Size: 7.2 x 5 inches

Pages: 140

Vintage

Now these are probably the kind of journals I'd use for writing cryptic messages, jotting down a witches tincture recipe, sketching all sorts of weird creatures, etc. I don't know what you'd use it for though!

Vintage Leather Journal Tree of Life

Size: 8 x 6 inches

Deckle Edge Paper

Locked

When you live around people who have no sense of boundaries or privacy: locked journals!

Journal With Lock

Size: 5.12 × 7.28 inches

Pages: 160

Metal combination lock

"What does your journal say about you?" This question suddenly popped into my mind while I was about to publish this post. It's a very interesting concept to dive into, but when I Googled it there were no related results. So I could perhaps do some research on my own and write a post for it. Don't hold your breath for that though because I might just forget all about it and move on with my life!
